On Monday, October 30th, the following will perform at the Pantheon Theater Bonn:

Christina Zurhausen Trio

The music of Cologne-based jazz guitarist Christina Zurhausen reflects the inner emotional world of a musician from the Ruhr area, who, influenced by philosophy and literature, has created her own sound in modern jazz. In the classical guitar trio formation, this comes into its own in various styles from groove jazz to oddmeter to free will. Influenced by trailblazers such as Scofield and Abercrombie, the guitar playing captivates with a unique style and sounds sometimes thoughtful and sometimes fervent.

With Dario Schattel on bass and Ramon Keck on drums, two well-rehearsed rhythm acrobats are added, who complete the sound of the original compositions and actively shape the communicative improvisations.

THE BIG WHY

Special times call for special ways of expressing themselves. The Cologne-based trio “The Big Why” is therefore not neglected with originality and expression. With pieces by pianist Nicholas von der Nahmer, inspired by his travels in Japan and America, as well as bassist Emil Buchholtz, the group, together with drummer Joshua Knauber, combines various styles into a new, refreshing sound world.

Dr. B.‘s Blues Dropouts

The band around the Bonn pianist and singer Christian Bobbert plays jazz and rhythm & blues from New Orleans. In addition to vocals, piano, bass and drums, there is also a crisp little brass section.

The program ranges from jump blues to jazzy ballads to real “second line” grooves that are rarely heard outside of New Orleans. Dr. B.’s Blues Dropouts draw on the proven material of Professor Longhair, Fats Domino or Dr. John, but also incorporate their own compositions.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Christian Bobbert (piano, vocals), Rainer Wilke (electric bass, vocals), Roland Weber
(drums, vocals), Thomas Heck (tenor saxophone), Dave Doerr (trumpet)

Congratulations!
